Camp Meeting Kickoff!

Thursday August 4th!!! Our Kickoff this year will feature "The Thurstons" in Concert.  Family, Music, Minsitry, all things you will experience at a gospel music concert or church setting with this talented family. The Thurstons have performed in churches, fairs, festivals and auditoriums in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and many other states as well.

The Thurstons were also invited to showcase at the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Their music has impacted lives all across the country with the help of Gospel Music Radio where their music has ranked in the charts of Gospel Music on several occasions.

Our Evangelist!

Our Evangelist for 2011 will be Pastor Jeff Perkins from Mt. Sterling KY.  Jeff Perkins is the Senior Pastor of the Mt. Sterling, KY. First Church of God.  In the seven years Jeff has pastored this church they have grown from an average Sunday worship attendance of 350 to 650, added five staff positions, completed a building renovation project, and are currently erecting a 10,000 sq. ft. Student Ministry Center that will serve as a community center for students.  In 2008 the church became the first church to be honored by the Chamber of Commerce as the Public Service Organization of the year. 

Before serving this congregation Jeff planted Westside Community Church in Orlando, FL. In the sixteen years he pastored this congregation the church grew from 20 to 280, added three staff members, purchased property, erected a building, and was debt free when he left. 

Jeff earned a B.A. degree in Pastoral Ministry from Warner-Southern College in Lake Wales, FL. and a Master’s Degree in Ministry from Moody Graduate School in Chicago, IL.  Jeff has served as Vice-Chairman of the General Assembly of the Church of God in Anderson, Chairman of the General Assembly in the state of Kentucky, and Chairman of the General Assembly in Florida.  He is currently a SHAPE cluster coach and coaches for Ministry Advantage.  

Jeff has been married to his wife Kathy for 27 years.  Kathy is a retired Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve and a full-time Physical Therapist.  He has two children, Amanda, a second year law student at Northern Kentucky University and Evan, a junior at the University of Kentucky. 

Our Song Evangelist

Our song evangelist for 2011 will be Ron Woolsey.  Ron is the worship leader at the Alma Church of God, in Alma Michigan.  Ron Graduated from Anderson College (University) with a B.A. in music education.  Ron has spent 34  years  in  worship  and  music  ministry,  19  of  which   have been at the Alma Church of God.  He has also served as worship leader at state camp meetings in Michigan and Indiana.  Ron has been Involved in various leadership capacities with the Church of God in Michigan, and also in leadership for numerous community services and events.
 
Ron has been married to Jackie Lynn (Roberts) for 34 years, and has three sons;  Ryan (married to Lindsay Phillips) of Fishers, IN, Aaron (married to Amy Webb) of Oklahoma City, OK, and Justin (married to Stacey Jackson) of Indianapolis, IN.
 
When he is not leading worship, Ron enjoys running, water skiing, traveling, and refinishing furniture.
